Wine and Cheese Reception 5:30 pm
Program 6:00 – 7:30 pm
Opera Uncorked is a fun, casual series of events where we explore everything you need to know about the upcoming operas in our season. But on January 28, we’ll celebrate San Diego Opera’s 60th anniversary at a very special Opera Uncorked.
General Director David Bennett will be joined by special guests as they offer insights and answer questions about our remarkable 60-year journey, topped off by selected arias performed by mezzo-soprano Guadalupe Paz (Frida in El último sueño de Frida y Diego) and San Diego opera resident conductor and chorus master Bruce Stasyna. It’s an evening sure to be as scintillating as the wine and cheese served upon your arrival!
At our events in February and March, Bruce Stasyna will offer presentations on Salome (February 25) and La traviata (March 27), discussing the history of each opera, what to listen for in the upcoming performances, and some of the interesting challenges and fun facts of producing opera.
Opera Uncorked takes place downtown at UCSD’s remarkable Park & Market location in East Village. Tickets are $15 per event and can be purchased by phone at (619) 533-7000, or by clicking the links below.
